As a retrofit for the following application: The sensor is used for process-oriented detection and monitoring of peak concentrations as well as trend monitoring of volatile hydrocarbon compounds (VOC, e.g. solvent vapours) in an inert gas atmosphere of a stationary enclosure or glovebox of tightness class 1 from MBRAUN. With an existing activated carbon solvent filter (LMF), an impending breakthrough can be detected in due time and the filter can be changed. In addition, the use of solvents can be precisely dosed and the reactor of the gas purification system can be protected against degradation.Measuring principle: Photoionisation detector (PID)Measuring range: lower ppm range (optionally in ppb range).Calibrated for iso-butene. Other solvents can be measured via tabulated conversion factors.Output signal: 0 ... 10 V, correspond to 0 ... 2000 ppm iso-butene24 V DC supply via power supply unit or separate supplySafety: The MB-HC-SE1 sensor supports the detection of LMF breakthrough by the operator in due time. A breakthrough of the LMF can damage the RKM. The concentration peaks measured by the sensor must not exceed the lower flammability threshold (LEL). The operator is responsible for the solvent balancing.Installation in the circulation piping. Measuring gases: argon, nitrogen, helium with traces of oxygen and moisture. Other gases on request.
